CIB (International Council for
Research and Innovation in Building and
Construction) was established in Holland in 1953
with support of the UN as an association whose
objectives were to stimulate and facilitate
international collaboration and information exchange
between governmental research institutes in the
Building and Construction sector. CIB has since
developed into a worldwide network of over 5000
experts from over 400 organizations active in the
research community, in industry or in education, who
collaborate and exchange information in
approximately 60 Commissions extending over all
fields in building and construction related research
and innovation.
The globalization of world
economies, today, is creating unprecedented
challenges and more than ever, international
cooperation and communication are essential. CIB is
uniquely able to facilitate this and does this
through its network of international Tasks Groups
and Working Commissions. The CIB Working Commission
99 (Safety and Health in Construction) will host a
pre-conference workshop and the International
Conference on Global Unity for Safety and Health in
Construction from June 26th to 30th,
2006 at Tsinghua University in Beijing, China.
INVITATION
The Organizing Committee is honored to invite researchers, engineers and practitioners, and safety/health professionals to address current fundamental problems and constraints that affect the successful achievement of safety and health in construction. The primary objective of the conference is to communicate information, expertise and research results on construction safety and health in order to assist all nations, especially developing and underdeveloped nations around the world, to make improvement in the well being of the construction workforce. All submitted abstracts and papers will be reviewed by the Scientific and Technical Committee according to the standards reviews procedures. The proceedings will be published and available at the conference. CIB welcomes governmental officers, experts, scholars, and specialists from all over the world to submit papers and attend the pre-conference workshop and the conference. The submitted abstracts should be no more than 300 words, with the manuscript limited to 8 pages of A4 size paper, inclusive of tables, figures, references and appendices.
CONFERENCE LANGUAGE
The submitted papers are to be
written only in English for publication in the
conference proceedings. The official languages of
the conference are English and Chinese. Interpreters
will be provided for key note speeches.
